GeoLimina

About GeoLimina

What is GeoLimina?

GeoLimina is a reference atlas of geographic and political data: territories with complex statuses, administrative hierarchies, and the authoritative sources behind every record. The name comes from the Latin limen (threshold, boundary) — reflecting a focus on borders, edges, and the spaces between.

Why was it built?

Geographic reference data is scattered across many sources: Wikipedia articles, government websites, ISO standards, UN documents. GeoLimina brings this together in a structured, citable, and browsable format, with each claim linked to its source.

Technology

GeoLimina is built with Next.js 14 (App Router), TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase for data storage. The site is statically exported and hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
